All you need to know about Indravati National Park in Chattisgarh

Flowing across the arcades of the mesmerizing beauty of the River Indravati; Indravati National Park was declared as a national park in the year 1981. Located in the Bijapur district of Chattisgarh , is one of the biggest tiger reserves in the country to be declared in the year 1983. The river boundaries are flourished with bewitching densely forested lands and open spaces covered with the magnificent creepers and scrubs. There are a number of tropical flowers growing across its arcades making it even more elegant to visit. The national park is famous for its most endangered species of the Wild Buffaloes and the Hill Mynas. The unique topography of the Indravati National Park has succeeded in retaining the vast extravagant wildlife collection that it has. The marvelous hilly terrains and the rising altitudes are known to capture the hilly and the plains wildlife of the country. How to Reach

The nearest railway station to the national park is the Jagdalpur Junction Railway station which is around 168 kms away from the national park. From the railway station you can take any public transport. The nearest airport is the Raipur Airport Raipur which is around 486 kms away from the national park.

Entry Timings

It is open throughout the day, all days a week. However, it is generally advisable to visit it during the hours from 10:00 AM in the morning till 5:00 PM in the evening.

Entry Fees

The entry fee varies from INR 20 for Indian nationals and INR 250 for foreign tourists. The costs for jeep safari, elephant ride and luxury cruise ride are excluded from the entry fee and have to be paid separately.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit the national park is from December to June. The winter’s months are bearable with pleasant temperatures.
