All you need to know about Parikrama in Vrindavan

Known as the Vrindavan Parikrama, it begins near the Krishna Balarama Tree located near the ISKCON temple. Many of the participants make sure to go around the tree before commencing the walk. The route follows a predetermined path taking the devotees past the Varaha Ghat & the Ashrama of Gautam Rishi. The bran of ISKCON Temple is also en route as is the Madana Mohan Temple and Kaliya Ghat. There are numerous other temples on the way including the Tekari Rani temple, Lord Chaitanya temple and the Jagannatha temple. The end of the Parikrama lies about a kilometre beyond the Mathura-Vrindavan Road.

Special Interest

The walk covers 10 KMs and can be completed in 2 to 3 hours. Pilgrims to Vrindavan go circling the city on Ekadasi (the 11th day after the new moon) that is considered to be the most auspicious day according to the Hindu calendar.
