The Monsoon Palace
The imposing and lush residence decorating the headdress of the city with a precious jewel, it being one of the most precious ones. Erstwhile known as the Sajjan Garh Palace, the monsoon palace just like the other palaces of the city is located overlooking the famous Fateh Sagar Lake.
The palace was built under the patronage of the king Maharana Sajjan Singh belonging to the Mewar dynasty in the year 1884. Hence the palace has been named after him. The grand picturesque view and spectacular contour it creates was chiefly built in order to admire the monsoon clouds. The palace has been built on top of a hill mainly to get an overview of the then capital of the Mewar dynasty; Chittorgarh.
The fate was the palace was to be constructed into a five-story astronomical center, however, which the premature death of the ruler, the plan was cancelled and instead it was converted into a monsoon palace and a hunting lodge for the royal families. The grandeur of the palace has been pictured in a James bond flick also.
The palace is built according to the Rajput style of architecture and was built entirely of white marble. The beauty of the palace has always compelled its visitors and is in close proximity of the SajjanGarh wildlife sanctuary located at a few meters of trek only. The beauty of it lies in it overlooking the Lake Pichola and lying amidst the clouds elevating to its magnificence and importance.

The best seasons or time to visit the city are those of spring and winter. The best recommended time lasts from September to March.

The nearest rail track to the city of is the Udaipur Junction Railway Station situated at a distance of 10.8 km and takes around 32 minutes to reach the destination. The nearest airport is the Udaipur International Airport or the Dabok Airport.
