The Bagore Ki Haveli
Located right in the waterfront of the Lake Pichola at the Gangori Ghat is the palace consisting of hundred rooms displaying the artifacts of the former kingdoms like their costumes and modern art.
The interiors of the palace are decorated with glass and mirror, in turn, preserving the form of Mewar paintings engraved on the walls of Queen Chambers. One such beauty inside the palace are the small pieces of coloured glasses, an exquisite form of glass work practiced in the kingdom.
The Haveli was extended further by Maharaj Shakti Singh of Bagore who constructed a triple-arched gateway. The Mewaris owned the Haveli until 1947; where after the government of Rajasthan restored and renovated the Haveli till 1986. The incredible structure of the Haveli is the Chambers of Royal Ladies who still bears frescoes of the Mewari style of architecture. The most relishing time to visit the Haveli is during the evening hours when the palace is extraordinarily lit and stages some of the most famous cultural extravagant forms of the state. The palace carries on the legacy of the city of palaces and royalty correcting defining it as the cultural capital of the state.
