The national park is located in the area of the large sunderban tiger reserve which was created in 1973. The buffer zone of the park is a very famous spot for bird watching. The park also has major attractions of reptiles, birds, monkeys, wild boar and deer. The national park is located in the proximity to the Nilgiri valley and is known for its rich enriching serenity and picturesque aura.

How to Reach

The nearest railway station to the national park is the Canning Junction Railway station which is around 48 kms away from the national park and located in the heart of the city. From the railway station you can take any public transport. The nearest airport is the Netaji Subhash International Airport at Dumdu, Kolkata which is around 112 kms away from the national park.

Entry Timings

The entry timings for the park are from 8:30 AM in the morning till 4:00 PM in the evening. The safari timings are same as well. However, no boat rides are allowed after 6:00 PM.

Entry Fees

The Entry fee charged from Indians nationals is INR 60 and from foreign nationals is INR 200. Also, there is a INR 400 boat entry fee charged per day. While on the boat ride it is compulsory to be accompanied by a guide on the boat which costs INR 400 for Indians and INR 700 for foreigners.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit the national park is from late September till February so that you can explore the rich beauty of the park with all its pristine naturalness.
