This is second largest pass after the Fotu La pas, situated at an elevation of approximately 3,528 m (11,575 ft) on NH1 between Srinagar and Leh in western section of Himalayan range. It separates Kashmir valley from Dras valley. Also, a link between Ladakh and Kashmir Valley.
This pass was invaded by Pakistani invaders on 1948 in their campaign to capture Ladakh, which was recaptured by Indian Army on 1st Nov, under the mission called “Operation Bison”. This historically important pass along with the captivating scenic beauty can be experienced while visiting the Zoji La pass. Once you will reach the pass you will notice the amazing Himalayan mountains, which makes your ride interesting.
It is around 100Km from Srinagar and 307 Km from Leh Airport.

This pass witnesses the heaviest snowfall during winters, that’s why the roads are closed for 6months. Open Between May to Sep.
