A museum, the proud possession, constructed and managed by Indian Army in memory of the soldiers who died in saving our motherland during Indo-Pak wars. A tribute to our brave soldiers.
The museum is divided into two floors the, in upper floor there is a section called “OP Vijay Gallery”, and as the name suggest it displays weapons used in the Kargil war alsong with the seized arms and weapons of Pakistan army during the war. On the same floor, in another section apparel and amenities used by Indian Army in Siachen region is been displayed. It also showcases the pictures and things of our brave soldiers.
Once you will go to another section in Ground floor, you will find the pictures describing how our Indian Army fought the Kargil war, also there are pictures of their accommodation and the process of troops on ice walls.
There is one of the most fascinating and heart touching wall that is known as “Lest We Forget” where there are the pictures of all the soldiers who died during war. You can also watch the documentary “Operation Vijay”.
It’s a must visit, a tribute to the soldiers and their stories who have laid down their lives for the country.
Located on the Leh-Kargil Road, 4km from Leh.
There is an entry ticket of Rs. 25 per person. If you want to take the pictures as a souvenir, you need to pay an additional fee of Rs.50.
