Chang La Pass

The third highest motorable road in the world. Chang La is a high mountain pass in Ladakh, situated at the elevation of elevation 5360 m or 17590 ft. This pass got its name from a Sadhu Changla Baba, and even today a temple dedicated to him stands here.

It is advisable not to stay more than 20 to 25 mins on the top as it will be detrimental to health because of its high altitude. The pass is mainly used to reach one of the most popular and beautiful tourist attraction Pangong Lake. Also, an important gateway for Changthang Plateau situated in the Himalayas. The world’s highest station, Defence Research and Development Organisation is functional in Chang La.
