Salim Ji Ki Haveli is another haveli that grabs the attention of the tourists particularly the architecture of its balconies that are 38 in number. The roof is constructed in the form of a peacock that has the tourists gazing at it in wonder. However, it is the front façade of the mansion that deserves special mention. It depicts the stern of a boat that led the haveli to be known as Jahaz Mahal.
Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli, On the other hand, was the residence of Diwan Mohata Nathmal, the Prime Minister of the Princely State of Jaisalmer. The mansion has an odd curious shape that stemmed from the fact that it had been constructed by two brothers who simultaneously worked on two facets without measuring it perfectly to ensure continuity. The grandeur of the mansion makes it worth a visit. The pillars and walls are numerous figures of animals and plants along with some modern artifices such as cars and fans. However, it is the lifelike replica of two enormous elephants guarding the entrance that catches the eye.
