The Sisodia Rani Garden
The Sisodia Rani Garden was constructed under the patronage of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the year 1728. The garden is beautifully decorated with compartments of tiered multi-level gardens with fountains, watercourses and vibrantly painted pavilions. The garden is adorned with a double storied palace decorating the top terrace of the garden. The Sisodia Rani Palace mingled with the Sisodia Rani Garden has many alleys of galleries, pavilions and bewitching murals illustrating scenes from the life of Lord Krishna.
The palace earns its name from the name of the queen hailing from Sisodia line of Suryavanshi belonging to the Sun Dynasty of the Rajputs for whom the garden was built. The rulers of this dynasty were considered to be the rulers of a region of Mewar in Rajasthan. The garden is located 10 km from the city on the Jaipur Agra Highway. The beautiful retreat now serves to be a wedding destination.
The garden is embellished with colourful scented flowers, several plant species and verdant green shrubs. The place is a total escape from all the hustle and bustle of the city life.
