The City Palace
Known to be the former seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur, the head of the Kanchawa Rajput clan; the City Palace includes Chandra Mahal and the Mubarak Mahal along with other royal buildings to form a complete royal complex. The initial construction of the palace began in between 1729 and 1732 by the then ruler Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber. He started by building the outer walls, and his successors made successive additions till the 20th century. The entire plan of the palace was designed by the chief architect Vidhyadhar Bhattacharya and Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob .Along with the Maharaja who himself was a keen enthusiast of architecture.
The Mubarak Mahal was built by Maharaja Madho Singh II and poises a rich collection of textiles formal royal costumes, sanganeri block prints, embroidered shawls, Kashmiri pashminas and silk sarees. The Chandra Mahal served to be the commanding building of the City Palace and details a museum and temple. Other notable structure includes the Pritam Nias Chowk, Diwan E Khas, Bagghi Ghana, Maharani Palace and the Govind Dev Ji Temple. The palace has a rich royal texture attached to it making it a particular buff amongst the architectural and historical fanatics.

The nearest rail track to the city is the Jaipur Junction Railway Station situated at a distance of 5.1 km and takes around 17 minutes to reach the destination. The nearest airport is the Jaipur International Airport.
