The Lakshman Jhula is a popular old hanging bridge which is a link between two villages, Tapovan in Tehri, Garhwal and Pauri, Garhwal. Lakshman Jhula is situated 5 km to the north east of town Rishikesh. It is very famous among tourists because of the mythological facts that are connected to the bridge. It is said that Lord Lakshman, the younger brother of Lord Rama, had crossed the Ganga River at this same place where the bridge now stands.
