Lachen is a wonderful hill station amidst the tranquillity of mountains. Lachen means ‘big pass’ on the other hand Lachung means ‘small pass’ and both are near the Tibet border. Along with beautiful landscape, quaint monasteries, ethnic villages, lovely alpine plantation and snow caped mountain. It’s a stunning small village that add on to the beauty of this place. An epitome of scenic beauty that holds and attracts lot of travellers from all over the world.

Nestled amidst the spectacular mountains, these small towns of Sikkim offer perfect treat to your eye and an escape from your daily mundane city life. You can walk hand in hand with your loved ones on the roads of Lachen surrounded by pure greenery and admire the breath-taking beauty of the place.

There is so much to do and relish in Lachen that no one in the world can feel odd and bored here. You can stare at daunting mountains for hours, click the pictures of beautiful surroundings or you can opt for adventure sports like trekking and rafting. The famous places to visit are Lachen Monastery, Chopta Valley, Green Lake.

Since Lachen and Lachung are close to each other tourists prefer a combined trip of Lachen/Gurudongmar lake along with Lachung & Yumthang Valley and accordingly this package offers 2 nights/ 3 days tour which will make you explore the enchanting landscape of the area nearer North Sikkim border. Lachen and Lachung both are beautiful quaint hamlet in North Sikkim, in this package you will be able to explore Tibetan plateau and Gurudongmar Lake, one of the largest lake in Sikkim at an altitude of 17,800 ft, ft. For security reasons only, Indian citizen can visit this lake. Also, the children below age of 7-8 years are not allowed in because of the high latitude which may cause the breathing problem.

This is a specifically designed group package, the tour will start from Gangtok to Lachen, from lachen we will go to Gurudongmar Lake than we will move towards Lachung, after that Yumthang Valley Excursion will be the last stoppage and then back to Gangtok.

Day 1: Gangtok to Lachen (About 118km / Around 5hrs)

We will leave in the morning from Gangtok and reach Lachen by afternoon. Meanwhile don’t forget to visit the beautiful destinations on the way such as seven sister waterfall and Singhik view point. You will reach by evening. Enjoy your evening tea and overnight stay in the hotel with beautiful natural surroundings, amidst the scenic beauty of Lachen.

Day: 2 Lachen to Gurudongmar Lake (60km approx. / 3hrs) – Lachung (105km / 5hrs)

On your second day, have breakfast and get ready to explore the most famous and picturesque Gurudongmar Lake. One of the highest situated and most sacred lake in North Sikkim. This lake remains completely frozen in winters between November to Mid-May. You can also visit a beautiful Chopta Valley located in between Lachen – Gurudongmar Lake which is covered with flowers during spring and with snow during winter. After that come back to hotel and then leave for Lachung and stay overnight in the hotel at Lachung.

Day: 3 Lachung – Yumthang Valley Excursion (25km / 1hr both side)- Gangtok (125km / 6hrs)

Start your day as early as possible to visit the beautiful and most amazing Yumthang Valley also known as Valley of flowers, it’s a nature sanctuary with hot springs, rivers, and yaks on rolling meadow surrounded by captivating Himalayan mountains. One of the must visit destinations. After the trekking to the valley of flowers have lunch and then it’s time to go back to Gangtok.
