The city was built as a new capital of Marwar to replace the old Mandore, ruins of which are still visible near Mandore Gardens. That’s why the people of Jodhpur and nearby areas are known as Marwaris.

Rajasthan is famous for its unique art and crafts, clothes along with different types of accessories such as bangles, ear rings, anklets etc. You can spend your evening shopping these unique art and craft items and gifts for your loved ones.

In the end, we will take you to explore the Mandore the first capital of Marwar. Mandore Gardens is a must in Mandore which is situated at a distance of 8 km from Mehrangarh Fort. Built with red sandstone using fine columns and an elegant spire along with high rock hill terrace makes it a famous local attraction. It also has a hall of heroes in remembrance of folk heroes from the past. Adjacent to this is a bigger hall known as ‘The Shrine of Three Hundred Million’ which is a home to 30 Crore Hindu Gods and Goddesses. On climbing the nearby hill, you can see the old palace and ruins of Mandore Fort. Ravan temple is another famous attraction at Mandore.

Time to check out from the hotel in Jodhpur and leave for Jaisalmer. While driving towards the “heart” of Thar desert, don’t forget to enjoy the dry landscapes of Rajasthan. Jaisalmer is a world heritage site, which stands on a ridge of yellowish sandstone known as a “Golden desert” because of its bounteous golden dunes flowing in Thar Desert. You will reach Jaisalmer in approximately 5 hrs. It is situated at Trikura Hill built by a Bhatti Rajput in 1156 AD. It’s not only a fort, whereas it’s a residential complex with many beautiful havelis, houses, temples etc. Next is Nathmal Ki Haveli which is famous for its architectural design with a fusion of Rajput and Mughal style, also located in the centre of the city.
